Generating and preserving value is a core fundamental in my work.

For investors and financiers, this may mean carrying out a comprehensive review of an under-performing investment and preparing an exit strategy to ensure value is preserved as best possible. It can also be a pre-lending/investment review to better understand the project, its environment and the risks inherent.

advisory.

I advise and support management teams that require strategic, financial and operational support. 

For some management teams or entrepreneurs, I help them to turn ideas into reality and address skills shortfall or provide commercial expertise in modelling and forecasting:
  • Building innovative business plan and models for startups, established businesses and projects
  • Building project financial models
  • Addressing (under)performance and profit improvement
  • Assessing financial and operational plans including forecasts, analysis and stress testing
  • Assessing opportunities for expansion, exit or development

And, where the management team is concerned about an impending or current distressed position, I help the team in:

I advise and provide support to investors in dealing with their under or non-performing investments. 

I help evaluate the risks and opportunities associated with a distressed company, and in their dealings with various stakeholders.

A typical assignment includes:
  • Assessing a company's long-term viability and business strategy
  • Reviewing and assessing restructuring alternatives
  • Crafting a best negotiation strategy with creditors and assisting in those negotiations
  • Liaising with creditors and their professionals
  • Re-establishing credibility with creditors and lenders
  • Reviewing cash flow plans and analysis of cash conservation efforts and procedures
  • Developing reorganisation plans

Creditor
advisory.

I advise banks, asset-based lenders, debt funds, guarantors and other creditors providing independent business, solvency and cash flow reviews and options analysis.

In multi-creditor situations I can provide financial modelling solutions, entity priority analysis, common platform information reports, restructuring valuation and fairness opinions.

I have considerable experience in advising lenders in assessing and recovering non-performing loans.

I am able to help develop contingency plans, insolvency strategies and enforcement where a distressed creditor situation requires attention.

Typically, an assignment will include:
  • Reviewing and assessing restructuring alternatives
  • Analysing instrument structure, and recovery value options
  • Analysing cash conservation efforts and procedures 
  • Valuing of security on a liquidation basis whether on an individual asset or partial going concern basis 
  • Assisting in negotiation of standstill agreements and restructuring terms 
  • Monitoring performance following business plan implementation
